§ 95. Brigadier Lowasked the Secretary of State for War whether he will give the present charges levied on officers and other ranks of B.T.A., respectively, for rent, fuel and light when living with their families in Austria; and whether these charges are based on the amounts actually 42W received by the Austrian house-owners and fuel and light undertakings for these services, or on some other considerations, and, if the latter, what are those considerations.
§ Mr. BellengerThe charges vary according to the type of accommodation. For furnished accommodation the charges are for officers from £80 to £175 a year, and for other ranks from 14s. to 23s. a week. For fuel and light the charges are for officers from £26 to £70 a year and for other ranks from 4s. 3d. to 8s. 10d. a week. These charges are based on the charges which are made for similar quarters in the United Kingdom.
