EdwardsThe highest population of Wales and Monmouth was 2,736,750 as estimated by the Registrar-General at midyear 1925; the lowest population recorded was 587,245 as enumerated at the Census of 1801. The total excess of births over deaths in Wales and Monmouth from 1896–1945 (both years inclusive) was 1,040,070.
