§ 61. Mr. Bingasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why he has caused a Dr. W. Dering, of the Polish military forces, to be detained; and what are the grounds of this detention.
§ Mr. EdeIn 1945 His Majesty's Government entered into a joint agreement with "other Governments of the United Nations for the surrender of any alien against whom there is aprima facie case that he is a war criminal. A request 227W has been received from the United Nations War Crimes Commission for the surrender of Surgeon Lieutenant Dering for trial as a war criminal and it is necessary that he should be in safe custody until the question whether there is a prima facie case against him has been determined. In order to secure such custody a Deportation Order has been made, but the question whether the Deportation Order will be enforced will depend on whether a prima facie case is established.
