Friend refers to the agreement entered into between the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company on the one hand and the Standard Oil Company (New Jersey) and Socony Vacuum on the other hand. As regards the first part of his Question, I would refer him to the answer given by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to the hon. Member for Devonport (Mr. Foot) on 5th Febrbuary and, in reply to the second part of his Question, to the answer I gave the hon. Member for Mile End (Mr. Piratin) on 23rd January.
