HC Deb 12 March 1947 vol 434 c209W
Mr. Stokes

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster when the court for the trial of the 27,000 so-called war criminals under the Nuremburg findings will commence their sittings; and how soon it is planned they should complete their work.

Mr. J. Hynd

As a result of the preliminary investigations already carried out the number of persons now in the British zone who are to be brought to trial has been reduced to some 18,900. The trials are expected to begin about the end of May and it is planned that they should be completed by the end of this year as already announced.
