HC Deb 12 March 1947 vol 434 c216W
Mr. Mitchison

asked the President of the Board of Trade what steps he is taking to lend to industry in Kettering or elsewhere 176 new mobile generators, being part of 180 which have stood idle for 12 months at Grafton Underwood aerodrome and which were recently put at the disposal of his Department by the Secretary of State for Air.

Sir S. Cripps

All the generating sets put at the disposal of the Board of Trade by the Air Ministry, including those referred to, have been, or are being, allocated on loan to approved firms requiring sets of the particular sizes available. Some of the sets in the hands of the Service Departments are of a small size for which there is little demand in industry.
