§ Mr. Stokesasked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster why it has been laid down that no machine tools may be made in Germany unless they are of antiquated design; and what use is being made of the machine tool designers in the German machine tool trade.
§ Mr. J. HyndNo such rule has been laid down in the British zone. There is however a very large surplus of machine tools in Germany and the production of new ones is therefore limited, in view of the general shortages of fuel, labour and materials.
