HC Deb 12 March 1947 vol 434 c214W
125. Mr. Parkin

asked the Minister of Labour how many applications under the Further Education and Training Scheme have been accepted by his Department; how many have been handed over by him to the Ministries of Education and Agriculture, respectively, for the payment of grants; and to what extent there is delay in payment of grants to those who remain under the responsibility of his Department.

Mr. Isaacs

The number of awards made by my Department up to 28th February, 1947, is 18,000. The comparable figure for the Ministry of Education is nearly 35,000, and for the Ministry of Agriculture nearly 1,500. As regards cases appropriate to my Department, there is no delay in the payment of awards.
