§ 48 Mr. Osborneasked the Chancellor at the Exchequer if he is aware that during 1946 £52,000,000 was spent on importing 16,500,000 cwt. of fruit against £37,000,000 on 42,000,000 cwt. of fruit in 1938; and if he will inquire into the possibility of using this money instead on animal feedingstuffs.
§ Mr. DaltonMy right hon. Friend, the Minister of Food, buys all the feedingstuffs he can. The fruit supplies in 1946 were, m my view, well worth having.
