HC Deb 11 March 1947 vol 434 c163W
Mr. Stokes

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will have a notice posted in all prisoner of war camps making clear the regulations regarding the receipt and despatch of letters, particularly that prisoners of war are now at liberty to write and receive letters from persons in this country.

Mr. Bellenger

I have no reason to suppose that commandants of prisoner of war camps have failed to inform the prisoners of the regulations regarding correspondence. Amended regulations regarding the freedom which may be allowed to prisoners of war are, however, being drawn up, and they will include reference to postal facilities. When these regulations are approved they will be issued to all camps with instructions that they are to be brought to the notice of all prisoners of war.
