HC Deb 11 March 1947 vol 434 c162W
108 Mr. Solley

asked the Secretary of State for War in view of the inability of the Ministry of Health to provide essential services to the camps occupied by squatters at Chadwell St. Mary and Abbots Hall, because of the refusal of his Department to make these camps available for housing, when the suggested coversion of the camps to married quarters for personnel of A.A. Command will commence; and whether he will arrange for the provision of the essential services pending such commencement.

Mr. Bellenger

The conversion to married quarters of the huts at Chadwell St. Mary and Abbots Hall will begin as soon as the squatters have vacated. I regret I cannot agree to the provision of services other than water.
