HL Deb 10 March 1947 vol 146 cc256-7WA
LORD CALVERLEY

asked His Majesty's Government whether they will use their good offices and ask the Governors of the B.B.C. to re-time the feature "To-day in Parliament" from 10.45 p.m. to 9.15 p.m. in the Home Programme, or alternatively to broadcast "To-day in Parliament" at 10.10 p.m. in the Light Programme.

THE POSTMASTER-GENERAL (THE EARL OF LISTOWEL)

Various suggestions have been made in the past for altering the time of this broadcast, and they have been carefully considered by the B.B.C. His Majesty's Government agree with the Corporation's view that it would not always be possible to give a balanced account of the debates in both Houses any earlier than at present.
