§ 74. Mr. Lipsonasked the Minister of Fuel and Power how much coal has been saved up to date as a result of the recent restrictions; and how many days' effort on the part of the miners this represents at the present rate of production.
§ Mr. ShinwellIt is estimated that the savings of coal at power stations, gas undertakings, coke ovens and industry during the period 10th-24th February was about 1,100,000 tons. This is about two days' output at the present level of production. Figures for savings during the last week of the restrictions on industry are not yet available.
