Mr. Collinsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department to what extent the large numbers of displaced persons and foreign nationals, who may be brought to this country will delay or prejudice the applications for British citizenship which have been made by aliens already resident in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. EdeThe statutory requirement that an applicant for naturalisation must have had at least five years residence on British soil will prevent any such difficulty arising.
