§ 100. Mr. Skeffington-Lodgeasked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will list those foodstuffs in the British zone, the distribution of which has so far fallen below the 1,550 calories ration scale agreed on in the Anglo-U.S. bi-zonal food programme.
§ Mr. J. HyndIn January the only material deficiency was in processed cereal foodstuffs, representing an average loss of about 80 calories a day. In February there were additional shortages of cheese, skimmed milk and, in Niedersachsen only, of fish; these increased the daily loss to about roe calories. The deficiency in cereals for both months will be made good as soon as possible; the other items cannot be replaced. Meat was also short in February, although extra distributions of sugar prevented any loss of calories.
