§ 32. Mr. Henderson Stewartasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware that agriculture is not accepted as part of the leaving certificate group for students wishing to enter a Scottish university; and, in view of the great importance of agriculture, whether he will take steps to ensure that a student who has qualified in agriculture during his school course will be able to count this subject as one recognised for purposes of attestation by the Scottish Universities Entrance Board.
§ Mr. WestwoodThe regulations governing entrance to the Scottish universities are the responsibility of the Scottish Universities Entrance Board, but I have suggested to the Board that consideration should be given to the acceptance for entrance purposes of a pass in agriculture in the senior leaving certificate.
