§ 8. Mr. Maudeasked the Minister of National Insurance whether he is aware that, on 26th June, 1946, probate of Miss Annie Carter, deceased, 1, Lyndhurst Road, Exeter, was forwarded to his Department with the contributory pension book and a request for payment of the uncashed orders; that the probate was 28W returned to the solicitors on 24th July, 1946, and in August his Department stated that they could not trace receipt of the probate; that the probate was again forwarded on 3rd September and that to the letter of that date as well as to the letters of 27th September, 14th October, 5th November, 1946, and 7th February, 1947, no reply or acknowledgment of any sort or description has been received; and whether he will now take steps to see that this matter is dealt with immediately.
§ Mr. J. GriffithsThe probate together with a postal draft in payment of uncashed pension orders, amounting to six pounds, was sent to Miss Carter's solicitors on 28th February. I am pursuing my inquiries into the reasons for the delay in this case.
§ 13. Mr. Dribergasked the Minister of National Insurance if he will investigate the delay in paying the increased retirement pension to Mrs. Ellen Maria Green, Grassals, Feering Hill, Kelvedon, Essex, pension book 39564716, and to Mr. and Mrs. Ingersolls, Beatty Bungalow, Long Green, Cressing, Braintree, Essex, pension books 50506287 and 48515661, who have repeatedly written to his Department's Blackpool office and applied to the Assistance Board without obtaining the increase to which they are entitled; if he will state the cause of these delays; and if he will cause these pensions to be issued at the increased rate forthwith.
