HC Deb 04 March 1947 vol 434 cc32-3W
38 and 39. Mr. Stephen

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) the number of overcrowded families at present residing in the Camlachie Parliamentary Division; the number who were provided with suitable accommodation last year; and the number for whom such accommodation will be ready by January, 1948;

(2) the number of houses at present under construction in the Camlachie Parliamentary Division, Glasgow; the number completed last year; and the number it is hoped to have ready for occupation by January, 1948.

Mr. Buchanan

According to the latest available information, the number of overcrowded families in the Camlachie Division is 1,256. One hundred and forty-four permanent houses were completed in the Division last year, and it is estimated that 162 additional permanent houses at present under construction, and 47 temporary houses will be ready for occupation by January, 1948. I have no information as to the number of overcrowded families from the Division who have been rehoused outside the Division.
