Following is a statement of the numbers of first registrations of motor vehicles taxed on horse-power. The figures unavoidably include a certain number of vehicles which are not primarily used for private purposes.

The number of motor cars taxed on horse-power which were registered for the first time in each of the years 1941 to 1946 was as follows:
