§ 13. Mr. Haireasked the Minister of Works the loss in production of cement caused by the fuel shortage; and whether he anticipates that production will meet demand during the coming months.
§ Mr. KeyIt is estimated that some 700,000 tons of cement have been lost this year owing to the shortage of fuel. The cement industry has now obtained a larger allocation of coal and production should now broadly equal the current demand but it may be some time before the dislocation caused by the fuel shortage is overcome.
