§ Dr. SummerskillThe last complaint was in April, 1945. I am glad to say that, since then, we have been able to double the sugar content. Standards for certain soft drinks are laid down in S.R. & O. No. 945 of 1946. The presence of any extraneous matter which might be harmful is for the local authority to investigate under the Food and Drugs Act. The result of our regulations is to penalise to some extent the good manufacturers, but the standard of many other manufacturers has been improved.
