§ Dr. Edith SummerskillAlthough efforts are being made to restore production in Asiatic rice exporting countries as quickly as possible, it will be some considerable time before ample supplies are forthcoming. In the meantime, until the needs of those countries in which rice is a staple food can be more adequately met, there is little prospect of imports into the United Kingdom for general distribution. It is hoped that imports of sago will be resumed in the course of the next few weeks. Whether sago will he on points is still under consideration.
