§ 84. Mr. J. J. Robertsonasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty whether he is yet in a position to make an announcement concerning the composition of the committee which is to be set up to examine the use of manpower in the Royal Navy.
Mr. DugdaleYes. The members of the committee will be: Mr. John T. Green, Director, Thomas Firth and John Brown Ltd., steel manufacturers, Sheffield; Mr. J. C. Little, O.B.E. A past President of the Amalgamated Engineering Union; Two Senior Naval Officers, (One of the Executive Branch and one of the Supply and Secretariat Branch); One senior civil servant. The Chairman of the Committee will be His Honour Tom Eastham, K.C., the Senior Official Referee of the Supreme Court of Judicature, whom the Lord Chancellor has been good enough to place at the disposal of the Admiralty for this purpose and who has indicated his willingness to accept the appointment.
