§ Mr. BellengerSince 1939 the whole character of Army canteens has changed. The policy now is that these canteens should serve as clubs for the soldier and provide facilities comparable to those available in civilian clubs. A limited space only is provided for the sale of beer, but there are no restrictions on consumption on the premises.
