§ 37. Mr. Rentonasked the Minister of transport whether he is aware that the traffic commissioner of the Eastern area is interpreting Section 25 (2) of the Road Traffic Act, 1934, in such a way as to prevent weekly excursions being operated between Peterborough and outlying villages; 50W and whether he will take steps to ensure that people living in such villages are not deprived in that way of a necessary amenity.
§ Mr. BarnesThe traffic commissioners are not satisfied that the excursions to which the hon. Member refers can lawfully be run without road service licences. They have made temporary arrangements for the trips to continue pending the hearing of applications for such licences.
