Mr. Creech JonesI assume my hon. Friend has in mind those companies which were incorporated under the laws of Hong Kong but were registered in Shanghai. Provision was made under Military Proclamation No. 27 of the British Military Administration in Hong Kong, as amended and continued in force by the Law Amendment (Transitional Provisions) Ordinance, 1946, for such companies to transfer their registration to Hong Kong. By a recent order made under this Ordinance, provision has also been made for such companies which had transferred their registration to the United Kingdom under the United Kingdom Defence (Companies) Regulations or to another part of His Majesty's Dominions under corresponding regulations, to transfer their registration to Hong Kong.
