Mr. Platts-Millsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is aware that one of the members of the newly-elected Bizonal Economic Council is Dr. Robert Pferdemenges, who, during the Nazi régime, was on the boards of Kloechner-Werke, the Harpener Bergbau A.G., the Deutsche Maschinen A.G., the Allgemeine Elektrizitaetsgesellschaft and many other similar concerns, in addition to being closely connected with the Schroeder Banking Company; and whether he is satisfied that these are desirable qualifications for a member of the Economic Council.
§ Mr. BevinDr. Pferdemenges has never been a member of the Nazi Party and was cleared by a German Denazification Panel. He has valuable technical qualifications.
