§ Mr. BellengerNotices of derequisition were despatched to the majority of the owners of land within the area on 18th July and 3,000 acres are now free for occupation. Of the remaining 1,000 acres, 850 acres have been cleared of dangerous missiles and it will be possible to derequisition that area in the very near future, unless a portion has to be retained pending clearance of defence works in the public interest by the Ministry of Works, but about 150 acres are almost constantly under water and it has not so far been possible to clear this part of dangerous missiles.
