§ 28. Mr. Wilkesasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what answer he has received to the representations made to the Greek Government regarding the arrest and sailing to the islands of 6,000 persons between 8th and 15th July, 1947.
§ Mr. BevinThe maintenance of internal order in Greece is a matter for the Greek Government. His Majesty's Government have, however, pointed out to the Greek Government the desirability on general humanitarian grounds of screening the persons detained as rapidly as possible. The Greek Government gave a favourable response.
