§ Mr. J. Morrisonasked the President of the Board of Trade on what principles it is decided whether raw material supplies are allocated through trade associations or through the agencies of Government Departments.
§ Sir S. CrippsThe underlying consideration has been to secure the greatest convenience and efficiency of distribution in the very varying circumstances of different materials; account is taken of the nature of the material, of their sources of supply and method of importation, of the distributive machinery available, and of conditions in the industries using them. The arrangements are kept under review in the light of changes in these circumstances.
