68. Mr. Stokes

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs when the hon. Member for Ipswich may expect a reply to his letter of 12th June regarding forcible repatriation of Russians from Italy and the alleged incident at Bologna.

Mr. McNeil

The War Office have asked the military authorities in Italy to investigate the accuracy of the reports enclosed in my hon. Friend's letter of 12th June, and a reply will be sent as soon as the results of this investigaton are received. I regret that owing to the large number of issues raised it may be some time before the investigation is complete.
