§ 90. Mr. Bossomasked the Minister of Works the number of officials in the equivalent Department in Scotland to the English Ministry of Works who are stationed at headquarters; and how many of these had any technical knowledge or experience of the building trade before joining that Department.
§ Mr. DurbinThe number of staff employed at the Edinburgh Headquarters of my Department on 1st June, 1947, was 775 of all grades. Of this number 356 are professional or technical officers. As 145W far as the technical grades connected with building are conerned, the standards laid down are such as to ensure that the officers so employed are fully competent to carry out the duties required.
