Silvermanasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why he has three times refused a transit visa to Miss Ilona Langdorf, a displaced person, who was rescued to Sweden from a German concentration camp where her mother and brother died, who is on her way from Sweden to South Africa to join her aunt, who is in possession of all other necessary permits and visas as well as passenger tickets, and who desires, en route, to visit her father in England whom she has not seen for many years.

§ Mr. EdeThe only application made to my Department for a transit visa was answered by advising that the proper course was for this girl to apply to the nearest passport control officer abroad. Her application made accordingly was granted.
