152. Mr. Baldwinasked the Minister of Supply whether he is aware that the shortage of rolled steel joists and angles, principally 6 ins. by 3 ins., is causing delay in the erection of agricultural buildings in Herefordshire; and what action he is taking to remedy the shortage.
§ Mr. WilmotI was not aware of a shortage in Herefordshire, but demands for these types of steel are at present very heavy and exceed supplies. The Iron and Steel Board is in close touch with the Ministry of Agriculture concerning the general steel requirements of the agricultural industry.
