§ Mr. BottomleyAt 31st March, 1946, the approximate gross debt, sterling and dollar, of the Newfoundland Government was as follows:
Sterling £19,072,546 Dollar $5,004,100 The main part of the sterling indebtedness is made up of 3 per cent. Guaranteed Stock 1943–63. There are also two small issues of 3½ per cent. Trustee Stock. The dollar indebtedness consists of three loans which were raised in Newfoundland during the war, and on which the rate of interest varies between 3 per cent. and 3¾ per cent.
