78. Mr. Murray

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware that skilled workers are unable to take up their work at Crook, County Durham, owing to the housing shortage; that some householders would take in these skilled workers as lodgers, Out are unable to do so because of their shortage of bedclothes; and whether he will give assistance in the special circumstances of this case.

We have recently made special arrangements to give assistance in appropriate cases to transferred workers who can show that they are unable to take their sheets with them.
