HC Deb 21 January 1947 vol 432 c36W
Sir E. Graham-Little

asked the Minister of Education whether as the provision of classrooms and of teachers which will be available on 1st April, 1947, is inadequate to deal with the addition of some 400,000 new pupils to the present congested school population, she will consider postponing the raising of the school leaving age until proper provision can be made both of teachers and of classrooms.

Miss Wilkinson

I do not accept the assumption underlying the hon. Member's Question. The answer is "No, Sir."
