asked the Secretary of State for War whether all men who have served in Palestine since VE-Day qualify for the Palestine General Service Medal; and whether he will give the details of any other qualifications required.

Mr. Bellenger

I presume the hon. and gallant Member refers to the General Service Medal instituted in 1918. This medal certainly cannot be awarded to all those who have served in Palestine since VE-Day. There has been no decision to grant it for any services there subsequent to 3rd September, 1939.
