HC Deb 21 January 1947 vol 432 c22W
100. Colonel Ropner

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware that many scientific instruments have accumulated at Marston Moor aerodrome and that these instruments are deteriorating through neglect and exposure; and what he intends doing to get these instruments distributed to persons who need them.

Mr. P. Noel-Baker

There are not many scientific instruments at Marston Moor aerodrome. Those which are kept there are properly stored in locked buildings. I am satisfied that there has been no deterioration to them through neglect or exposure. Any that are no longer required for the Royal Air Force will be declared to the Ministry of Supply for disposal, but I am inquiring as to whether there has been any avoidable delay, and will write to the hon. and gallant Gentleman.
