HC Deb 27 February 1947 vol 433 c340W
Mr. H. D. Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what reply has been sent to the petition of F.X.M. Bussier, of Mauritius, No. 1163/34–111, dated 23rd October, 1945.

Mr. Creech Jones

I assume that this Question refers to a petition dated 26th September, 1945, from Mr. Francois Bussier, a Grade II Sanitary Inspector in Mauritius, representing that he had been unfairly passed over for promotion to Grade I. My predecessor asked the Governor ten months ago to inform Mr. Bussier that his petition had been considered but that the Secretary of State was not prepared to intervene on his behalf.
