HC Deb 27 February 1947 vol 433 cc322-3W
Mr. Ellis Smith

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power to what extent there was consultation between his Department and others over the power required for the increase in the use of electric fires, immersion heaters, bedwarmers, hotel heating, etc.; and what was the result.

Mr. Shinwell

Consultations have been held from time to time, which have shown that restrictions on electricity supplies for the various appliances referred to by my hon. Friend could not be applied except as part of a general scheme for restricting the supply of electricity.
