§ 89. Sir J. Barlowasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that certain bank balances were frozen in British North Borneo; and whether he will say when these will be released.
Mr. Creech JonesI assume the hon. Member is referring to the balances in the State Bank. I hope that the arrangements, to which I referred in my reply to the hon. Member for the Isle of Wight (Sir P. Macdonald) on 20th November, for reconstituting the records of this Bank and dealing generally with its affairs, including the claims of the depositors, will shortly be concluded.
