§ 42. Mr. T. Reidasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies when the term of office of the present State Council of Ceylon expires what system of government will thereafter exist till the new Parliament is elected.
Mr. Creech JonesAn extension of the life of the State Council for four months beyond 10th March, the present date of expiration, has been agreed upon and the necessary legislation is being prepared. There is provision under the existing Constitution for continuing executive Government during the period following a dissolution
