§ Mr. BurkeI am sorry to say that about 500 applications in the Brixton exchange area cannot be met owing to shortage of underground lines. The work of manufacturing and installing new cables is being pushed forward and it should be 299W possible to meet a considerable number of these applications by the end of the year. Where lines are available, service is provided in two or three months.
