§ Colonel Ropnerasked the Minister of Town and Country Planning whether any decision has yet been reached by him with regard to the advisability, or otherwise, of approving the scheme to site a new town in the Micklc field-Sherburn area.
§ Mr. SilkinRepresentatives of the Leeds City Council and West Riding County Council discussed this proposal with me and I indicated that, apart from other objections, a site in this area would be too close to Leeds to permit the new town becoming a self-contained and balanced community.
