asked the Ministet of Food if he is aware that the costing machinery of his Department is functioning so slowly that small businesses, faced with substantial rises in prices, cannot maintain their businesses on a sound footing; and what action he is taking to expedite it.

The costings division is working under pressure, but we have had no specific complaints from the trade. If the hon. Member knows of any cases of difficulty and will let me have particulars, I shall, of course, willingly look into them
