HC Deb 24 February 1947 vol 433 c231W
Mr. Thornton-Kemsley

asked the Minister of Transport if he will arrange for the night train from Aberdeen to King's Cross to stop, by request, at Stonehaven, as was possible before the war.

Mr. Barnes

A stop at Stonehaven would mean that this train would have either to leave Aberdeen earlier or arrive in London later. I am advised that both these alternatives are undesirable, the first because the train already leaves Aberdeen 5o minutes earlier than before the war, and the second because it would involve the train with the morning suburban business services at King's Cross.
