HC Deb 21 February 1947 vol 433 c228W
Sir E. Graham-Little

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster (1) for what reasons he has been unable to include the paper, "Dziennik Polski i Dxienik Zolnierza," on the approved list for circulation in the British zone of Germany;

(2) for what reason permission to include the Polish daily newspaper "Slowo Polskie" among papers circulated in the British zones has been refused by him.

Mr. J. Hynd

There is no prohibition on the admission, subject to censorship, of either newspaper to the British zone of Germany through ordinary postal channels. The approved list refers to a restricted number of newspapers which are given facilities for free distribution in displaced persons camps through official British channels and this list cannot be extended to include papers having a consistent tendency to discourage repatriation or indulge in propaganda against the Allied Powers.
