HC Deb 20 February 1947 vol 433 cc221-2W
128. Mr. Joynson-Hicks

asked the Minister of Transport how many disabled persons are now requiring motorcars to enable them to get to and carry out their business; and what steps is he taking to expedite the delivery of motorcars to these people.

Mr. G. R. Strauss

I have no information which would enable me to answer the first part of the Question. My right hon. Friend is responsible for the allocation of reconditioned Government surplus cars to seriously disabled ex-Servicemen, of whom there are at present 1,55o on the waiting list, which has now been closed. It will take at least 12 months to clear this list.
