§ 88. Mr. A. Lewisasked the Assistant Postmaster-General if he is aware of the dissatisfaction felt by Post Office workers at the 7 p.m. delivery of letters and 9 p.m. collections; and what action he proposes to take. to remove this hardship on Post Office workers.
§ Mr. BurkeI am aware that some dissatisfaction has been expressed by a certain section of the staff about the 7 p.m. delivery and 9 p.m. collections in London which were introduced as recently as the 10th January as part of the postwar improvements in postal services. Having regard to the fact that substantial improvements in postmen's attendances have recently been made my noble Friend does not think there are reasonable grounds for dissatisfaction. As the hon. Member will be aware, the delivery and collections to which he refers have been suspended in connection with the present crisis.
